Celebrating Polyculture

Around the world in four lunchtimes

The CPIT community is celebrating diversity on campus over four Wednesdays from 24 August with Polyculture, an annual celebration of global culture through music, dance and food.  At these lunchtime concerts you can expect to see salsa, breakdance and capoeira, along with several types of drumming, food from the various cultures, and much more.

Polyculture provides all of CPIT’s international students the opportunity to showcase various aspects of their culture, as well as providing the opportunity for groups to perform for the public. Celebrations started on 24th August with Asian Day, and Middle Eastern Day is on 7 September.  Events are held in the CPSA, Madras St Campus. Maori and Pasifika/African Day will take place in the Rakaia building, on September 14th.

Spot prizes will be awarded to those dressed in National Dress

The library has a display of books including  My Home Now, stories told by migrants and refugees to New Zealand and People like us : celebrating cultural diversity in New Zealand.
